City, State: Moscow, Russia
Role, responsibilities: Arwen, script writer
The way I got into the project: Better say, the way I nearly
got out of the project. I took far less part this year. This time
I wasn't an assistant director or assistant operator (though, once
I supervised a prolusion with Uruk-hai troops), I only took part
in script writing and a couple of scenes where Arwen appears. That's
because I was expecting a baby, my daughter Polinka, who was born
in August.
General impression: All the two weeks that we were working
on the film I felt disappointed cause I couldn't be there from morning
till night, as I was last year. You can only feel drive and fellowship
when you are head over ears in it. As I turned up there just occasionally,
I thought I looked as if I were a guest star who didn't care for
the rest of it. Just the other way round!
Most memorable epsodes: Those three scenes I was in… It
was good of the crew to drive me to Butovo, for filming the scene
where Aragorn dreams of Arwen, so I could get into the atmosphere
again, the sun shining and all that, like in old times.
Feats you had to perform for the film: Had no chance to,
alas.
A couple of words for the participants and interested ones:
I saw it being filmed, and I saw the preview trailer - and it thrills
me, the episodes I saw and the way we managed it. Well done!
