The way I got into the project: It is shooting that got on me. It was a pure accident. I got mad when saw the boorish post at the thread with the alternative casting; some guy asked: "And what will you do with this stupid casting?" "We will shoot the movie!" I answered, hardly imagining the consequences. But to my great surprise the forum folk supported me. By the time the idea began to become more material I realized, that we were quite serious. So began the work, which is still going on and I hope will be going on for a long time. It is really a fairy tale project and for many people it's the right thing to do.
General impression: As a director I tried to be on the set at every moment. It made my life much more complicated, since I even had no time to satisfy my vital needs. I can imagine what a chaos the shooting looked like from the outside, whereas we have done everything possible under the circumstances. At first we had a thorough schedule that to our great sorrow was broken on the first day of shooting. We had no time for a couple of scenes and were forced to move them to other day. The bad weather broke our schedule on the third day. So we had free days and then days when the scenes were shot back-to-back. Perhaps it would have been easier if we have more days for shooting, but unfortunately we did not have such a treasure. I only hope that we've done everything we could under the circumstances. I like what we've done.
As for the impression itself, it was the best, the craziest and the most incredible project in my life. I'm proud of everything we've done. I'm proud that the phrase, thrown into the face of a skeptic had such results. If that is going to continue, I'm going to like skeptics. The joke became real work and a style of life. I like that.

The best moments: A difficult question. There were a lot of things I remember. Not all of them are good. I'll always remember how Amor and I shared one slice of sausage left for us at lunch time┘ But the most incredible moment was when I saw the actors (before I came to Moscow for the shooting I saw them only at the photos). And when I saw how all of them perfectly fit the roles they were going to perform┘ I was shocked. I see the help from above in this entire project.
The things you would like to change: I will answer what I WILL change. Schedule. More tough demands for the crew. More careful preparation for the shooting. Actually, it is all being done already. I don't have any claims for the first movie. It was the first one. It HAPPENED. And it is a real miracle. But in the future we will arrange the miracles better.
How did your friends/parents react on the project: Well, my mom thinks that it's all rubbish. Relatives want to come to the premiere. My friends are very interested in this project. And it is understandable - they participated in it! Those who didn't participate got interested too. As if they could not to!
