City, State: Moscow, Russia
Role, Responsibilities: Played a part of Arwen. Participated in writing the script and was the assistant director. The way I got into the project: in one of the threads on the forum the alternative casting for the movie among the forum folk was held. It was just for fun. Someone looked at my photo and suggested that I was Arwen. I agreed and when we began to speak about a real movie, this role was left for me.
General impression: I had an incredible vacation in 2002. I didn't go to the seaside, I spent all the time in the city, but it was really wonderful. We were lucky with the weather almost all the time so the memories that I have are of the heat, sun, trees, good company and great mood. And the most important - it was all so unusual.
The best moments: I recall the half of the day we spent in the sunny ravine waiting for the half of the crew to finally arrive on the site to begin shooting. It was the time of complete rest and relaxation (funny, isn't it: the brightest impression is from doing nothing).
The "Mirror of Galadriel" scene: the exquisite feet of Galadriel followed by Frodo's fury feet. We were rolling with laughter while shooting this. And the Council scene! I think it was the most heroic moment of the shooting. It was starting to get darker and we were thinking whether to go on tormenting people and shoot quite a big and complicated scene of the Council or leave it till the next day and fall behind with the schedule. But then we looked at our guys who had already put the full costumes and make-up on and thought that they would need to take it all off if we decided to cancel the shooting on this day, pulled ourselves together and announced: "The Council!" We managed to shoot everything before it got completely dark, though it was pretty difficult. I recall the rush of the very last day of shooting and a whole lot of excellent shots, made in the little forest between the road and Mu's house.
The things you would like to change: We were badly lacking in a thorough schedule that we could have distributed among the actors, for them not to come at 8am every day and then sit till the evening, waiting for their episodes to be shot.
How did your friends/parents react on the project: At the end of the week my husband said: "I'm FEED UP with your shooting!" (he just missed me a lot). But he really wants to see the result. Everybody at work is constantly asking about our movie. Everybody is interested.
